Cliff + Lynette Horning; Lancaster, PA

Sorry it’s been so long since my last blog. The month of May seems to have been a complete blur. I am finally back on track with editing and pumping out projects so I’ll be sure to keep you all updated regularly with the newest Photography gigs.

This one is long overdue – and I mean LONG overdue. Cliff and Lynnette got married on April 23rd this year the day before Easter. This wedding was an important one for me because it proved once again that the barter system is alive and well.

Back in December and November when everyone thought I was crazy for renovating our basement at the same time as going to Nashville to kick off the Revive Project – oh, not to mention it was the holidays – I was looking for ways (as always) to keep costs down. So I got an email from a friend about a unique craigslist posting. An electrician was looking for a photographer to shoot his wedding – in return – he would do electrical work. Perfect! I didn’t want to burn my house down, and he needs a photographer – match made in heaven!photocrati gallery

We quickly invited Cliff over to see our basement and decide if it was an even trade. All sides agreed, we signed a basic contract and we were off. Cliff spent a number of evenings in December and January cleaning out the terribly old electrical work in our basement and replacing it with an all new setup. Not to mention a night or two Lauren and I made him dinner and got to hang out and eat together.

Cliff did some INCREDIBLE work in our basement (where I’m writing this blog in my new office right now – computer plugged into a socket Cliff installed). In return, I shot his wedding in April. Everyone thought we were crazy, but, hey, we proved them all wrong. The barter system lives!

There wedding day was a lucky one as the rain held off and we were able to get some great shots at the Landis Valley Museum where their reception was. This was Lauren’s last wedding to tag along with me as a mommy-to-be. Thanks for troopin’ along and for all the help!

Here’s some favorite shots of the day.
