I had such a fun time working with Brandon + Tara and their entire bridal party and family on their wedding day. Sometimes you get couples that are super relaxed on their wedding day and just enjoy the day for what it is – the day they marry their best friend. This is how it was with these two. It was such a beautiful October day and the venue couldn’t have been more perfect. Held at a family friend’s property at Willowbrook Farm in Malvern, Brandon + Tara’s wedding truly felt like it was out of a storybook. These two are the most caring and genuine people, you can see it in how they interact with one another but even more importantly in how they interact with their friends and families and even those that worked for them on their wedding day to make it a success. I really hope the two of you enjoy your wedding photos as much as I enjoyed capturing every moment. Thanks for giving me a front seat to one of the most important day in your lives. I was so honored to capture Jeremy + Audrey’s wedding because I’ve known Jeremy for a number of years now. We met because he was a teacher and colleague at the school my dad was a principal at here in Lancaster. Lauren and I met Jeremy when we first got married as we would always be at Happy Hour together at the Lancaster Brewing Company on Fridays. Over time we got to know him a little better and he even spent a holiday or two with the entire Smith clan (poor guy). I’ve always enjoyed spending time with Jeremy because he is always willing to talk about just about anything with you and he’s got such a great sense of humor. Lauren and I were so excited for him when we found out he got engaged and we were even more excited to finally meet his fiance, Audrey. She and Jeremy are the perfect match for one another. When Jeremy and Audrey came over to our house to talk about their wedding weekend with us we ended up spending hours with them just catching up with Jeremy and getting to know Audrey. I could tell just from the way they interacted that they really “get” one another and compliment one another so well.
Their wedding weekend was held at the Harbourtowne Resort in St. Michaels, MD. It was the same weekend that Hurricane Joaquin was moving through so all of the festivities had to be moved indoors. Audrey and Jeremy kept positive about it all and braved some seriously ferocious wind to take some photos outside. There were only a few small pockets of space outside where there was little to no wind so we did the best that we could. The red umbrella in the images was inspired by Jeremy’s love for the local Lancaster artist, Liz Hess, who uses a red umbrella as a focal point in her paintings. It was such a great weekend and I truly appreciated the opportunity to capture these moments. Here are some of my favorite moments:

Oh, and one more thing! If you’re in the Lancaster area, you should definitely check out their food truck – Sven’s Cafe!
I absolutely loved working with Jeff + Jenny for their wedding and engagement session. We did their engagement session on quite possibly the coldest day of the year last year at the end of November in Chesapeake City, MD so we were all looking forward to another take at photos on a nice warm August day which turned out to be one of the most mild and comfortable days in August. Jeff + Jenny’s bridal party was a big happy family of close friends and relatives and everyone was so much fun to work with. Their reception was held at French Creek Country Club and it has been years since I’ve been able to shoot there again. Some of their scenery is so iconic to the location and we had such a fun time around the property with these two. Big thanks to my buddy Katie Williamson for shooting this wedding with me – as always she did a fantastic job. Here are some of my favorite moments from their day:

I can remember when this now grown-up, beautiful and mature young woman was once 5 or 6 years old when we became friends with her family. It’s amazing how time flies. She’s now ready to graduate high school at the end of this school year! Time flies so fast. I can’t wait for what’s ahead of her. Moriah, you have such an awesome heart for Jesus, keep that at the center of your life and you will always have a bright future wherever you go. Here are some of my favorites from your senior shoot:
