Dan is a photographer, singer/songwriter, print/web designer based out of Lancaster, PA where he was born and raised.

Attending college at Eastern University  he graduated with a bachelors degree in Communication with minors in Cultural Anthropology and Leadership Studies.

While at Eastern he met his wife, Lauren, who became his teammate in music and songwriting. Together they wrote and produced two independent albums while at Eastern (Coming Home, Open My Eyes). Since graduating they have produced four more, (Tracing Caleb EP, Transition, The Revive Project, All My Hope). The Revive Project and All My Hope, produced and recorded in Nashville, TN, are non-profit albums to benefit the poor and needy in Reading, PA. Dan and Lauren helped plant Reading City Church in 2010 and started the Revive Project in hopes of bringing awareness to Reading’s struggles and bring an end to her poverty. Moving back to Dan’s hometown of Lancaster in 2007, Dan landed a job as a Creative Director. Upon picking up a camera for leisure, Dan fell in love with and found a gift in photography. In 2007 he shot his first wedding for some friends and since then it has exploded into a full-time business in both photography and freelance print and web design www.thesmithfactory.com/design

In 2016 Dan began a full-time job at Community Fellowship Church in Lancaster as the Worship Arts Director. Because of high demand on photography, Dan only accepts a few weddings per year and continues to accept portrait inquiries as his schedule allows.

Dan and Lauren are parents to three young children, Andy, Lilly & Ben. They reside a couple miles north of Downtown Lancaster.
